The worst girlfriend I ever had was a bankruptcy attorney.  It’s hard enough dating any attorney, given they work long, long hours and are always on call if their clients need their help on anything.  It’s a lot like they’re always working even when they’re not working, if you get what I mean.  Even when she wasn’t in the office and wasn’t actively involved in any cases, she always, always talked about her work.  We couldn’t watch a movie, eat breakfast, or just lie there on the couch next to each other without her going on and on about bankruptcy cases.  At least if she were a criminal defendant, the stories might have been more interesting, but, no, she had to be a bankruptcy attorney. So I got to hear about the most boring court cases ever.  None of these would ever make it onto Law and Order because they’re just so dull.  Yeah, I know bankruptcy can be a horrible thing for people and that I’m being insensitive, but I’m not going bankrupt and I don’t actually know these people.  And this was my girlfriend!  When was she ever going to have time for me and just me?  To think, it really shocked her when I broke it off.
