GIFT OF IMAGINATION FROM GRANDMA

When I asked my six-year old daughter what she would like for her birthday this year she answered me with no hesitation that she wanted the most “prettiest” Oriental rug for her doll house.  I didn’t even realize she knew what an Oriental rug was!  When I asked her more about the rug, she explained.  Last weekend she spent the night with her Grandma and five-year old cousin. Grandma had put sleeping bags on her Oriental rug in her family room for my daughter and her cousin to sleep on.  They watched “Aladdin” and then pretended they too were flying on a magic carpet just like in the movie, as Grandma’s Oriental rug looked just like the one in the movie.   She said all her little people in her doll house will be able to fly all over the world if they can have a magic carpet and she would be their Grandma and make them cookies that they could eat while sitting on their own Oriental rug.  And she would even give them hot chocolate and let them drink it on their Oriental rug, just like her Grandma does.  Grandma send both girls home with old eyeglass cases that they could use for sleeping bags for their little people and they too will be able to sleep on their own Oriental rug.  I wonder where I could find a miniature Oriental rug in Chicago!
