BANCARROTA MOVIE
I was watching this movie that one would roughly define as a comedy. It was about these two guys who filed for bancarrota and then hatched all these zany schemes to get rich quick and take care of all their debts. They both know a little about heat and gas so they go around posing as guys working for The People’s Gas Company, checking meters and such. After that they pretended to be mafia enforcers, trying to get money of small shops. Then the real mafia enforcers showed up. When they get caught and beaten up, they start gambling with stolen money. Along the way, one of the guys poses as a substitute history teacher and I’m sure you know where this is going. He starts falling in love with one of his fellow teachers and wants to make a really, really big difference in the lives of his students. Meantime, his friend still wants to gamble and fleece everybody for as much as money as he can. They even forget all about the bancarrota! How are these guys paying for everything? They go to the hospital, eat, pay rent, and buy new clothes! If this is the type of work screen writers do, then the Screen Writers Guild doesn’t deserve a pay raise or to go on strike.
